ANTI-POGO ACT CLOSER TO BEING A LAW – GATCHALIAN

After extensive and detailed investigations conducted by the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, chaired by Senator Win Gatchalian, the Anti-POGO Act of 2025 is now one step closer to becoming law.

This development comes after the House of Representatives adopted the Senate version of the bill, which bans the establishment, operation, and provision of services related to offshore gaming and POGO activities in the Philippines.

The measure also holds accountable those who assist in the unlawful entry or exit of individuals using invalid or fraudulent travel documents.

Once enacted, the law will establish an Administrative Oversight Committee (AOC), to be led by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, tasked with ensuring the law’s effective implementation.

Since October 2022, the Committee has been assessing the social costs and economic impact of POGOs in the country, including issues with regulation and enforcement.

“Over 9,000 foreign nationals linked to POGOs remain at large.”

“Pinagtitibay nito ang utos ng Pangulo na sugpuin na ang mga POGO at wag na silang papasukin sa bansa,” said Gatchalian, citing reports that over 9,000 foreign nationals linked to POGOs remain at large.
