ARAGONES LAUNCHES ‘ISUMBONG SA PULIS’ IN LAGUNA

Laguna Governor Sol Aragones launched “Isumbong sa Pulis” Drive to boost public access to 911 emergency services in their province.

Aragones stressed the importance of strong police visibility, especially in remote areas where crimes are more likely to occur.

“Ang gusto natin yung pulis nasa labas talaga, umiikot talaga lalo dun sa mga liblib na barangay, kasi mas madalas doon nangyayari ang krimen,” the lady governor said.

“Request natin ‘yung police visibility na talagang umiikot lalo sa mga liblib, yung madali nilang mahahanap at matawagan ang mga pulis.”

The “Isumbong sa Pulis” campaign underscores the provincial government’s commitment to public safety, accessibility, and swift emergency response.

Through continuous police visibility and public awareness, the Laguna government aims to maintain peace and order while empowering residents to actively participate in crime prevention by knowing the right authorities to call in times of need.

According to Laguna Provincial Director Police Colonel Jonar Yupio, the 911 hotline is part of a national government system designed to respond to all types of emergencies.

“Ito po ay national government. Disaster, medical, lahat po ng emergency pwedeng itawag sa 911. Pagtawag sa 911, ‘yung concern po ng Laguna, may magco-connect po sa atin,” Yupio explained, emphasizing the seamless coordination between the national emergency system and local law enforcement.

“Due to the province’s 24-hour Oplan Sita and strengthened police presence, Laguna currently has the lowest crime rate in the entire CALABARZON region.”

He noted that due to the province’s 24-hour Oplan Sita and strengthened police presence, Laguna currently has the lowest crime rate in the entire CALABARZON region, highlighting the effectiveness of the province’s crime prevention strategies.

Aragones personally led the information drive by posting campaign materials at the Santa Cruz public market, distributing flyers to vendors and shoppers, and ensuring that posters were placed on tricycles and jeepneys so commuters would know whom to contact during emergencies.

Similar activities were carried out simultaneously in every municipality across Laguna, reinforcing the province wide reach of the campaign and ensuring that even grassroots communities are well informed.
