ARROGANCIA WANTS UNDERGROUND POWER LINES IN QUEZON

Quezon Province 3rd District Representative Reynante Arrogancia calls for extensive efforts regarding calamity resilient power distribution systems prone to typhoons and explore underground power lines in calamity-stricken and coastal municipalities.

Inaabot ng ilang linggo o buwan bago kami maka-recover,” Arrogancia said.

“Every year we experience extreme storms and most of which cause widespread infrastructure damage and power outages across the third District.”

“Every year we experience extreme storms and most of which cause widespread infrastructure damage and power outages across the third District. In 2022 alone, Typhoons Karding, Paeng and Agaton caused massive damage to electrical infrastructures including power poles and transmission lines affecting areas resulting to prolonged power outages,” the veteran legislator recalled.

He proposes laying underground power lines in his province to ensure uninterrupted electric supply.

“Our coastal towns will be able to survive better and not lose contact with the relevant agencies, if we have typhoon-resilient power systems.”

“It may be feasible to lay underground power lines at parts along or near our coastal areas in southern Quezon province. The underground power lines will ensure continued electricity supply and quick recovery from storms. Our coastal towns will be able to survive better and not lose contact with the relevant agencies, if we have typhoon-resilient power systems,” Arrogancia explained.

“I urge the National Electrification Administration and local electric cooperatives to consider and expand its underground power cabling system to the Quezon Province, which they pioneered in Batanes, to address electric power reliability and lessen power interruptions,” Arrogancia said.
