The TPB is the country’s first-ever 10-year Labor Market Development Plan, outlining long-term strategies for job creation, workforce upskilling, and labor market transformation.

“This initiative strongly aligns with my administration’s priorities: job generation, skills development, and economic opportunities that uplift our people while protecting our environment and strengthening our industries,” the lady governor said.

Anchored on the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028 and AmBisyon Natin 2040, the TPB seeks to build an inclusive, adaptive, and competitive economy amid rapid technological and economic change.

In partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment Regional (DOLE 7), the launch also featured a job fair with 16 participating employers that offered on-the-spot hiring for jobseekers.

Participating companies included NUSTAR Resort and Casino; Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc.; Ace Hardware; Austal Philippines; Berovan Marketing; Channel Precision; Easy Services; ECC Foreign Language Institute of the Philippines; Great English Corp.; Mega Goldtown Pan; Sanford Marketing Corp.; SM Appliance; SM Supermarket; Staff Outsourcing Solutions; Staffwise Solutions; Topserve Service Solutions; and Visaya Amusement Corp.

“As we formally receive Cebu’s copy of the ‘Trabaho Para sa Bayan’ Plan, I commit that the Provincial Government of Cebu will work closely with DEPDev, our cities and municipalities, and our partners in the private and academic sectors to formulate and strengthen our Workforce Development Plan,” Baricuatro said.

“Together, we will translate policies into real jobs, real skills, and real opportunities for our people,” she concluded.
