BENITEZ URGES MAYORS TO FIGHT FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE

Negros Occidental Third District Congressman Javi Benitez and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto recently caught up with each other at the sidelines of the Congress’ Infrastructure Committee hearing on flood control projects.

Both Benitez and Sotto are members of Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG), a movement of local leaders committed to fighting corruption and building resilient, future-ready communities.

“M4GG is a movement that we hope will impact more of our country and countrymen in the coming years,” the legislator said.

Sotto is one of M4GG’s convenors, alongside Mayors Benjie Magalong of Baguio, Joy Belmonte of QC, and Sitti Hataman of Isabela.

Benitez is now considered an alumnus of the movement, having been a member from 2023 to 2025 during his stint as mayor of Victorias, Negros Occidental.

“We need the values espoused by M4GG to catch fire on and spark a revolution of good across our archipelago.”
