BONG GO BRINGS FREE MEAL PROGRAM TO HOSPITALS

True to his “Bisyo ang magserbisyo” mantra, Senator Bong Go once again rolled out his feeding initiative dubbed “Palugaw ni Mr. Malasakit”, this time reaching hospitals across Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Mindanao from June 30 to July 5.

Through his Malasakit Team, Go provided warm, nourishing meals to patients, caregivers, and health workers in multiple public hospitals, including the Novaliches District Hospital; Ospital ng Lungsod ng San Jose Del Monte City in Bulacan; Research Institute of Tropical Medicine and Ospital ng Muntinlupa in Muntinlupa City; PNP General Hospital, Quirino Memorial Medical Center, Philippine Orthopedic Center, and National Children’s Hospital in Quezon City; and General Santos City Hospital in Mindanao.

“It’s also about making people feel that they are cared for, that they are not alone in their struggles.”

“Health is not just about medicine and hospitals. It’s also about making people feel that they are cared for, that they are not alone in their struggles,” the veteran legislator explained.

The program, often conducted in conjunction with visits to Malasakit Centers, serves not only as a gesture of empathy but also as a complement to the seasoned lawmaker’s broader advocacy of accessible and compassionate healthcare.

“Healthcare is not just about medicine–it should be holistic, including emotional support and basic needs like nutrition.”

As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, Go has long emphasized that healthcare is not just about medicine–it should be holistic, including emotional support and basic needs like nutrition.

The senator’s healthcare initiatives are anchored in his landmark legislation, Republic Act No. 11463, or the Malasakit Centers Act, which he principally authored and sponsored. These centers aim to simplify access to medical assistance, reducing the burden on Filipinos seeking healthcare services. To date, over 167 Malasakit Centers nationwide have provided aid to more than 17 million Filipinos.

“Patuloy kaming magseserbisyo sa inyo dahil bisyo ko ang magserbisyo at ako ay naniniwala na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo ‘yan sa Panginoon, serbisyo ‘yan kay Allah,” said Go, who is known as Mr. Malasakit for his compassionate service to Filipinos in need.
