Senator Bong Go joined the people of Iligan City in commemorating the 75th Araw ng Iligan City where he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Iliganons for their continued trust and support–especially for ranking him number one in the city during the last senatorial elections.
Maraming salamat po sa tiwala,” the legislator added, emphasizing his dedication to remain a reliable partner of the city in delivering essential government services.
The lawmaker also acknowledged the strong leadership of Iligan City officials, led by Mayor Frederick Siao and Vice Mayor Marianito Alemania, for steering the city towards progress and inclusive development.
Earlier that day, the senator also led the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the newly constructed Super Health Center in Initao, Misamis Oriental–one of the many health facilities he advocated nationwide to bring medical services closer to communities.
During his visit, Go also extended assistance to families in the city who were affected by Typhoon Kristine, continuing his efforts to respond swiftly to the needs of disaster victims.
“I am committed to push for more Malasakit Centers, Super Health Centers, and Regional Specialty Centers across the country, particularly in Mindanao.”
As Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, he has been a staunch advocate for accessible and affordable healthcare. Go reiterated his commitment to push for more Malasakit Centers, Super Health Centers, and Regional Specialty Centers across the country, particularly in Mindanao.
He then mentioned that there is a Malasakit Center at Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital in the city to provide poor and indigent patients with convenient access to medical assistance programs from the government. There is also one in Kapatagan Provincial Hospital.
Go, the principal author and sponsor of the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, has championed the cause of providing convenient access to medical assistance programs to particularly poor and indigent patients. Currently, there are 167 Malasakit Centers established throughout the nation, which have already assisted more or less 17 million Filipinos, as reported by the DOH.
He also took the opportunity to thank local leaders and residents for their perseverance and unity in sustaining the city’s progress. Go lauded Iligan City as a city that is crucial in Mindanao development.
Meanwhile, he also mentioned that there is a Super Health Center in the city. Through the collective efforts of fellow lawmakers, sufficient funds had been allocated for more than 700 Super Health Centers nationwide, including ten in the province of Lanao del Norte.
Go emphasized, continuing his mission to be present where he is needed most.
The celebration featured cultural performances, parades, and other community activities that highlighted Iligan’s heritage and aspirations for a better future.
He ended his visit by reaffirming his commitment to continue championing programs that uplift the lives of Filipinos–especially those in Mindanao–and ensure that public service truly reaches the grassroots.
