BONG GO LAUDS CREATION OF AURORA MEDICAL CENTER

Senator Bong Go highlighted the passage of Republic Act No. 12240, which establishes a Level III General Hospital in Baler, Aurora to be known as the Aurora Medical Center.

While he was serving as Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health, Go championed its approval.

“The hospital will provide residents of Aurora with access to advanced medical care without the need to travel far from their communities.”

As the principal sponsor of the measure, the veteran legislator explained that the hospital will provide residents of Aurora with access to advanced medical care without the need to travel far from their communities.

“Naisabatas na ang Republic Act No. 12240 na nagtatayo ng isang Level III General Hospital sa Baler, Aurora na tatawaging Aurora Medical Center,” the seasoned lawmaker said, recalling the passage of the measure he sponsored.

Go, who now serves as Vice Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health, described the law as a concrete step in his continuing health reforms crusade to bring quality medical services closer to Filipinos, particularly in underserved areas.

He further shared his belief that strengthening the country’s health care system is a shared national responsibility.

Go has now authored 24 laws and has principally sponsored 95, including 93 specifically focused on establishing and upgrading public hospitals. In addition, he has co-authored and co-sponsored 191 other laws, reflecting the wide reach of his efforts to expand access to quality health services.

Go emphasized that these measures collectively reflect his drive to create long-term solutions to health care challenges across the Philippines.

Reflecting on his years of work in the Senate, Go reiterated that RA 12240 is a testament to the government’s continuing responsibility to invest in the health sector.

“With all sincerity, I will continue to push for pro-poor programs and laws, especially on health. Health is wealth. We must work together to bring quality medical services closer to our people, particularly the poor and indigent patients.
