BRGY EXECS BACK NOGRALES IN CAMPAIGN HOME STRETCH

Time for real change.

This was the message of several barangay officials across the city who have pledged their full support for mayoralty candidate Karlo Nograles as the campaign enters its final stretch, as they stressed that the city stands to benefit from a fresh and more responsive brand of leadership.

In separate statements, the local officials cited growing clamor from their constituents for a mayor who will bring City Hall closer to the people and deliver on urgent needs like jobs, food security, and reliable public services.

Barangay officials said they threw their support behind Nograles after consultations with their constituents, many of whom feel disconnected from city hall.

“People in the barangays are ready for something new,” said Brgy. Capt. Loreto Nicolas from Brgy. 19B, the biggest barangay in the Poblacion area of the city’s first legislative district.

“They want a mayor who will not only listen but act—and act fast.”

Another barangay official from the first district, Allan Linao, said that the presence of a “clear and better option” in this election has excited voters who yearn for change.

“What we are seeing is a demand for leadership that is grounded, experienced, and accessible. That is why we are going all-out in these final weeks,” said Linao, a kagawad in Brgy. Bucana, the largest barangay in the district.

According to Lilibeth Al-ag, the barangay captain of Brgy. Toril Proper in the third district, “we need someone who understands the urgency of everyday problems.”

“From food prices to flooding to job opportunities—these are pressing issues. We need a mayor who will show up, not just during calamities, but every day.”

The officials said they are mobilizing their networks for house-to-house efforts, precinct monitoring, and volunteer deployment to boost voter turnout.

“Our communities are ready. We just need to finish strong,” stressed Nicolas. “For us, this is more than a campaign—it’s a real chance to bring positive change for Davao City.”
