The City Government of Caloocan provided 100 bicycles to the personnel of the Public Safety and Traffic Management Department (PSTMD) and the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) as an alternative mode of transportation in line with calls for the strict implementation of energy conservation measures in the government.
Under Executive Order 007-26, which was adopted from Presidential Memorandum Circular No. 114 issued by Malacañang, the city government’s move aims to anticipate the possible fuel price hikes and shortages brought by the current state of global affairs by cutting down consumption to more than fifteen percent of the current usage.
Mayor Along Malapitan encouraged other personnel of the city government to strictly adhere to the comprehensive energy conservation measures provided for in the Executive Order and likewise try alternative modes of travel to and from the city hall whenever possible.
