A total of 276 senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs) have been hired by food chains that have partnered with the City Government of Davao to provide them job opportunities.
Lilibeth Pantinople, Manager of the city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), told the City Information Office that following the special job fair held recently, the Jollibee Group hired a total of 125 senior citizens and 63 PWDs.

These senior citizens and PWDs are being deployed in three batches to 21 stores of the Jollibee Group in the city, including Greenwich, Jollibee, Chowking, and Burger King.
Meanwhile, McDonald’s hired a total of 88 senior citizens who will be deployed to its 18 stores.
The PESO Davao City facilitated their employment, assisting with everything from recruitment to compliance with the necessary requirements, including medical certificates, police clearances, and occupational permits.

She said that Acting City Mayor Sebastian Duterte shouldered the fees for the documents.
Following their deployment, PESO Davao City continues to monitor the senior citizens and PWDs.
The hired senior citizens and PWDs have three-month employment contracts with the partner food chains.
Senior citizens have a four-hour daily schedule, while PWDs work full day.
