If you’re part of Manila’s student dance community, chances are you’ve heard the name Defiance—and this March, it’s coming back bigger, better, and bolder than ever. Defiance Season 3 returns on March 15, 2026 at the FEU Tech Gymnasium, bringing together student dancers who are ready to take risks, tell their stories, and prove they belong on stage.
Organized by the FEU Institute of Technology through Artist Connection – Exude Dancers, Defiance is more than just a competition—it’s a space created by students, for students. What started as a homegrown project has grown into one of the most anticipated inter-school dance events, known for celebrating raw talent, creativity, and authentic expression.
This season, Defiance opens its doors once again to both Basic Education and Tertiary Division crews, welcoming dancers from junior high, senior high, and college. With two divisions sharing one stage, the event showcases how diverse and powerful student dance culture has become—whether it’s hard-hitting choreography, concept-driven pieces, or performances that hit straight in the feels.
The stakes are high, with a total of ₱120,000 in cash prizes up for grabs. But for many crews, Defiance isn’t just about winning. It’s about representing your school, earning respect from fellow dancers, and performing in front of an audience that understands the grind behind every eight count.
Registration for competing teams is open until March 6, 2026, giving crews just enough time to lock in their routines and prepare for the spotlight. As rehearsals intensify and group chats stay active past midnight, one thing is clear—Defiance Season 3 is shaping up to be a defining moment for student dancers this year.
The competition will run in two parts. The Basic Education Division opens at 12:00 NN, with showtime at 1:00 PM, bringing fresh energy and fearless performances to kick off the day. The Tertiary Division follows in the evening, with doors opening at 5:00 PM and performances starting at 6:00 PM, closing the event with elevated concepts and high-level execution.
