In a significant step toward strengthening workplace healthcare services, the Provincial Government of Laguna under the leadership of Governor Sol Aragones inaugurated and officially opened the first-ever dental clinic inside the Laguna Provincial Capitol, operating from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, in coordination with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) led by Dr. Odilon Inoncillo.
The newly established facility provides free dental services for Capitol employees, including tooth extraction, cleaning, dentures, and other essential oral health procedures aimed at promoting better wellness and preventive care within government offices.
Aragones highlighted the importance of the program, noting that this is the first time a dental clinic has been made available inside the Capitol for employees.
“Ang magandang balita sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon magkakaroon na ng dental clinic ang ating mga empleyado dito sa kapitolyo,” the lady governor said.
She added that the program is currently exclusive to employees but may be expanded in the future.
“Sa ngayon sa empleyado po muna pero pinag-aaralan po namin pag medyo nakaluwag-luwag na ay bubuksan po natin ito sa mga kalapit bayan.”

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Odilon Inoncillo also shared that additional health programs are being studied for Capitol employees, including free laboratory testing under the proposed “Magic 8” initiative, a package of eight basic diagnostic laboratory tests commonly used for preventive health screening and early detection of illnesses. These include Complete Blood Count (CBC), urinalysis, fecalysis, blood sugar test, cholesterol or lipid profile, creatinine test for kidney function, uric acid test, and liver function tests such as SGPT/SGOT.
“Pinag-aaralan din po namin ang pagkakaroon ng libreng lab test para sa mga empleyado.”

In line with expanded healthcare initiatives, the provincial government also announced upcoming medical programs, including free chemotherapy services on April 8 and the opening of a dialysis center in Pakil on April 27.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by various department heads who expressed full support for the establishment of the dental clinic, emphasizing the importance of accessible healthcare services for government employees.
The inauguration of the first-ever dental clinic at the Laguna Provincial Capitol reflects the provincial government’s continued commitment to improving employee welfare and strengthening healthcare services. With more medical programs underway, the initiative highlights a broader effort to build a more accessible, preventive, and inclusive health system for Lagunenses.
