DOT AWARDS BOHOL AS ‘BEST DESTINATION PROVINCE’

The Province of Bohol has been recognized with the Philippine Tourism Excellence Award for Tourism Destination Province for 2025–2027 at the inaugural Philippine Tourism Awards. 

Representing the Provincial Tourism Council Chair, Governor Aris Aumentado, Co-Chair Atty. Lucas Nunag accepted the award at Okada Manila — a proud moment highlighting Bohol’s decades-long leadership in Philippine tourism.

Bohol was also named a finalist for the Eco-Tourism Destination award.



Bohol was also named a finalist for the Eco-Tourism Destination award, with Loboc and Panglao earning finalist spots in the Best Tourism Destination (Municipality) and Best Dive Destination categories, respectively. 

In the same event, Lourdes Sultan received recognition as a Tourism Pillar Awardee for 2025.

Aumentado, through his official Facebook page, expressed gratitude to the Department of Tourism for honoring Bohol and its tourism partners. 

“Thank you very much, Department of Tourism, for the great honor,” the governor said. 

This milestone reaffirms Bohol’s enduring charm — from the Chocolate Hills and pristine beaches to its cultural treasures — and its standing as the country’s first UNESCO Global Geopark.

“This gives us inspiration to have more programs and projects that offer quality service to our foreign and local tourists.”

The provincial government remains steadfast in promoting sustainable tourism, protecting its environment, and supporting communities toward a shared and inclusive future.
