Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco met with officials of Reyna ng Turismo Pilipinas, an LGBTQIA+ beauty pageant, to explore potential collaborations aimed at promoting gender diversity and inclusivity within the tourism sector.
Headed by its National Director and Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 Dia Mate, the Reyna ng Turismo Pilipinas was originally launched as a regional pageant in Cavite and has since successfully staged three editions.

Now aiming to expand into a national competition, the pageant intends to gather representatives from provinces and cities nationwide to highlight local heritage, culture, and tourism, while also providing a platform for queer Filipinos.
Frasco welcomed the discussions, reaffirming the DOT’s commitment to developing tourism programs that champion diversity and inclusivity.
“The first-ever Tourism Pride Summit celebrated the contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community to the tourism industry.”
“Under our helm at the Department of Tourism, we have sought to integrate inclusivity in all of our programs,” the tourism chief said, citing the recently held first-ever Tourism Pride Summit, which celebrated the contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community to the tourism industry.
Also present during the meeting were Undersecretaries Shahlimar Hofer Tamano and Maria Rica Bueno, Director Glenn Albert Ocampo, Head Executive Assistant Frances Villarino, Reyna ng Turismo Pilipinas Director for Operations Mike Mate, and Director for Local and National Partnership Keann Feraer.
