The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has received a letter of appreciation from FedEx, recognizing the Bureau’s timely action that helped speed up the movement of cargo and, in turn, get parcels and everyday goods to people faster through Clark International Airport.
In a letter addressed to BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, FedEx Philippines Managing Director Maribeth Espinosa thanked the Bureau for approving the operation of additional chartered cargo flights and for granting an exception to the Permit to Transfer/Transfer Permit.

This allowed imported containers to be transferred directly to FedEx’s bonded warehouse for immediate sorting, reducing processing time while maintaining full compliance with customs laws and regulations.
With this support in place, FedEx can now operate up to seven chartered flights per week, in addition to its regular flight from China.
The first charter flight was successfully completed on 13 January, helping prevent delivery backlogs, particularly for parcels arriving during early morning hours at Clark.
“For many Filipinos, faster cargo processing means quicker delivery of online purchases, business shipments, and essential goods.”

“Our goal in Customs is to protect the border while making sure legitimate goods reach people without unnecessary delay,” he added.
FedEx also acknowledged the strong support of Port of Clark District Collector Jarius Reyes and his team, as well as Deputy Commissioner Atty. Agaton Teodoro Uvero of the Assessment and Operations Coordinating Group, citing their hands-on coordination as key to the smooth and timely approval.
The Bureau of Customs views this recognition as a reflection of its ongoing efforts to streamline air cargo and bonded warehouse processes under its trade facilitation and ease of doing business reforms, with a focus on reducing delays that directly affect consumers.
In line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s economic agenda, the BOC remains committed to working with the private sector to build a faster, more reliable, and compliant logistics system that supports businesses, strengthens supply chains, and delivers everyday goods to Filipino households more efficiently.
