Bukidnon 2nd District Representative Jonathan Keith Flores has made good on his recent pledge to author a bill that cuts the links between electronic payments and online gambling.
Flores filed his proposed Anti-Online Gambling Promotions in E-Wallets Act together with four other House Members.
“All four of Bukidnon’s representatives in Congress are united on making sure gambling operations go back to onsite operations only and without linkages to e-wallets,” the veteran legislator said.
Listed in the bill are prohibitions to be imposed on companies that operate e-wallets.
SEC. 4. Prohibited Contents. – It shall be unlawful for operators of e-wallet mobile applications:
(a) To redirect users to any online gambling platform, website, or application through links, QR codes, or similar digital means;
(b) To distribute information online on the placing, receiving, or transmitting of a bet or wager through any online gambling website, platform, or application;
(c) To display, publish, or host online gambling advertisements within their applications or user interfaces; and
(d) To promote gambling activities online to the general public.
The seasoned lawmaker also filed his Anti-Political Dynasty bill.
His anti-political dynasty measure seeks to limit local political families to only one candidate from among close relatives in local elections, including for district representative.

In the bill, the close relatives are the spouse, children (including adopted), and parents.
But the bill also allows incumbent elected officials to run for reelection until their current term limits run out.
He also filed a bill increasing the number of Bukidnon legislative districts to five from the current four.

There are also three bills filed for health facilities in Bukidnon.
He seeks to establish a college of medicine at the Bukidnon State University, convert the provincial hospital into a regional hospital, and establish a multi-specialty medical facility in Bukidnon.
