Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco graced the opening of Earth + Lens 2025, the annual photo exhibition of the Manila Bulletin, in partnership with Huawei and the Manila Hotel.
“It (Earth + Lens exhibit) reminds us that despite the things that we may hold in opposition, there is and will always be that which unites us as Filipinos—our love of country, our rich culture, and our pride as a people,” Frasco said in her remarks.
“The photographers captured the Philippines from the lens of pride and patriotism.”
The tourism chief also lauded the featured photographers for capturing the Philippines “from the lens of pride and patriotism,” highlighting not only the country’s landscapes but also its heritage, culture, and resilient people.
She emphasized that the Department of Tourism (DOT) has continued its partnership with the Manila Bulletin since 2019.
“Initiatives celebrating Filipino creativity and identity strengthen national unity.”
The tourism head underscored that initiatives celebrating Filipino creativity and identity strengthen national unity and inspire both locals and visitors to “Love the Philippines” in more meaningful ways.
“The Department of Tourism stands with Manila Bulletin and Huawei in this most admirable advocacy pushing forward our common love for the Philippines,” Frasco added.
Present at the event were Manila Bulletin President Emilio Yap III, Publisher Herminio “Sonny” Coloma Jr., Huawei executives Joey Wang and Elvan Liu, DOT Undersecretary Ferdinand Jumapao, Assistant Secretaries Judilyn Quiachon and Ronald Conopio, along with featured photographers and content creators, other officers of Manila Bulletin and Huawei, and members of the media.
