GAB CHAIRMAN WELCOMES VISITING MACAU BLACK KNIGHTS

Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chairman Atty. Francisco Rivera welcomed the Macau Black Knights Basketball Team at the GAB Central Office in Makati City.

The team was led by Alternate Team Governor Jacque Ruby.

Professional Sports Division Officer-in-Charge Dr. Oliver Evangelista joined Rivera in welcoming the group.

During the courtesy call, the GAB chief conducted an orientation for the players and officials, highlighting their role as the regulatory body for professional sports in the country.

“The law is clear.”

He underscored the agency’s campaign against game-fixing and emphasized strict adherence to the Code of Ethics and Conduct of Professional Athletes.

“The law is clear. Let us adhere to our ethical standards and avoid game fixing,” Rivera stressed.

“We will assist with visa applications and the processing of licenses for newly arrived foreign players.

He also assured the team of GAB’s full support, including assistance with visa applications and the processing of licenses for newly arrived foreign players.

This is to ensure their seamless participation as a guest team in the ongoing Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) 50th Commissioner’s Cup.
