Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson led the blessing and inauguration of the newly installed Mammogram Room and Pediatric Ward Extension at the provincial government-run Gov. Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital in Himamaylan City.
Fifth District Board Member Rita Gatuslao, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Himamaylan City Vice Mayor Justin Gatuslao, former Board Member Agustin Ernesto Bascon, Provincial Health Officer and Hospital Operations Department Head Dr. Girlie Pinongan, and Chief of Hospital Dr. Allan Ramos joined the governor at the event.
The mammogram unit is equipped with advanced technology to deliver high-quality breast imaging, enabling early and accurate diagnosis and ensuring accessible, reliable breast cancer screening for the community.
“The development marks another milestone in the ongoing transformation of VGAT Hospital into a stronger, more responsive, and more compassionate center for healing in the heart of southern Negros.”
Lacson said the development marks another milestone in the ongoing transformation of VGAT Hospital into a stronger, more responsive, and more compassionate center for healing in the heart of southern Negros.
The governor emphasized that the establishment of the Mammogram Room is a significant step in the province’s commitment to strengthening women’s health services, while the expanded Pediatric Ward Extension reflects the equally important responsibility to provide a nurturing and healing environment for children.
“The Provincial Government remains fully committed to the continuous upgrading of district and provincial hospitals—recognizing that access to healthcare is a right, made a reality through modern equipment, skilled personnel, and facilities that reflect the respect and care every patient deserves,” Lacson stressed.
