Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso announced that the construction of the Manila Cancer Center (MCC), the first local government–run cancer facility in the Philippines, will push through—marking a milestone as the city’s first dedicated center for cancer care.
Domagoso made the announcement during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Manila Sacramento Library and Multi-Purpose Building held at Zamora Street, Paco, Manila.
“The city government has already issued the necessary permits for the project.”

The initiative is in partnership with Manila 5th District Representative Irwin Tieng.
The MCC will rise within the compound of the Ospital ng Maynila and is envisioned to provide accessible and quality cancer care for patients who cannot afford private medical services.
Domagoso assured Manileños of his administration’s commitment to building more facilities that directly benefit the people.
