The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) met with school authorities to discuss traffic mitigating measures on perennial chokepoints near big schools along major thoroughfares in the National Capital Region.
The MMDA has identified critical chokepoints on Ortigas area, particularly the vicinity of La Salle Greenhills and Saint Pedro Poveda College.
MMDA Chairman Atty. Don Artes, who presided the meeting, said the agency has started the installation of CCTV cameras on several roads leading to schools for the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has backed the implementation of NCAP, saying it will promote road discipline among Filipinos.
“We have observed traffic buildup on several schools due to the volume of vehicles conveying and fetching students, occupying two or three lanes,” Artes explained.

Representatives from La Salle Greenhills, Saint Pedro Poveda College, Ateneo De Manila University, Miriam College, Xavier School, and Immaculate Conception Academy were present and voiced their comments and suggestions. They also expressed their support to the NCAP initiative and ensured active cooperation in easing traffic flow in their respective areas.
Quezon City Assistant City Administrator for Operations Alberto Kimpo was also present at the meeting.

Artes, meanwhile, clarified that the deployment of traffic enforcers will remain on the said schools for traffic management.
