NEGROS OCCIDENTAL HOLDS ROBOTICS CHALLENGE

Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson led the official opening of the 5th Battle of Bots: Negros Occidental Robotics Challenge 2025, held at the NOLITC Campus in Talisay City.

The event was spearheaded by the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) headed by NOLITC Administrator Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido.

Participating in the competition were the top five winners from each district of Negros Occidental, who advanced from their respective local competitions.

Participants showcased their coding skills, strategic thinking, and excellence in robotics in three main categories such as Line Tracing, Sumobot, and Mission Challenge.

“It is a meaningful platform to empower the youth, foster creativity, and prepare them for a future shaped by rapid technological advancement and global competitiveness.”



In his message, Lacson emphasized that the event is more than just a contest of skills. The governor described it as a meaningful platform to empower the youth, foster creativity, and prepare them for a future shaped by rapid technological advancement and global competitiveness.

Meanwhile, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz expressed his full support for the initiative, underscoring its significance in inspiring and engaging the youth.

Also present at the event were DepEd Negros Occidental Education Program Supervisor Maritess Rivera, Pinoy Robot Games Founder Melvin Matulac, Executive Assistant to the Governor and PIO Charina Magallanes-Tan, and Provincial GAD Focal Point System Action Officer Marie June Castro.
