SULTAN KUDARAT, MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE — Megastar Sharon Cuneta Pangilinan will join her husband, former senator and senatorial candidate Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, on a landmark visit to Camp Darapanan this Friday, May 2, 2025. Pangilinan will receive the formal endorsement of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP), the official political party of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), led by UBJP Vice President for Central Mindanao Mohagher Iqbal.
The visit follows a recent endorsement from MILF’s Kumander Bravo (Abdullah Macapaar) in Lanao del Norte, signaling growing trust in Pangilinan’s vision of peace, food security, and inclusive development.
“Walang kulay ang gutom. Walang kulay ang solusyon. When we invest in our farmers and fisherfolk—whether in Luzon, Visayas, or Mindanao—we build unity rooted in dignity,” Pangilinan said ahead of the visit.
UBJP’s endorsement is expected to boost Pangilinan’s standing as a national candidate who understands that addressing hunger is key to national healing—transcending political colors and historical divisions.
Pangilinan emphasized that Mindanao will be a top priority under his leadership, citing the region’s critical role in national food production and peacebuilding.
As principal author of the Sagip Saka Law, Pangilinan has long pushed for direct government support to food producers, championing Mindanao’s farmers and fisherfolk through access to markets, subsidies, and infrastructure. He has also backed the Bangsamoro transition, advocating for adequate funding, stronger local governance, and meaningful inclusion in national policy-making.
“Mindanao feeds the nation. Kapag binigyan natin ng tunay na suporta ang mga nagpapakain sa atin, masusugpo natin ang gutom at mapapalakas natin ang pagkakaisa. Food security will bridge the great divide,” Pangilinan said.
UBJP’s endorsement is expected to boost Pangilinan’s standing as a national candidate who understands that addressing hunger is key to national healing—transcending political colors and historical divisions.
The visit also marks Sharon Cuneta’s first time in Camp Darapanan—a heartfelt symbol of solidarity and shared hope for lasting peace.
“Kapag pinakinggan natin ang mga tinig ng mga lugar na matagal nang naisantabi, doon nagsisimula ang tunay na pagbabago,” Pangilinan added.
