PH RED CROSS RESPONDS TO 53 FIRES IN DECEMBER 2025

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) responded to 53 fire incidents nationwide in December 2025.

The PRC deployed 20 fire trucks and 61 ambulances nationwide to provide immediate rescue and medical attention to families affected by fires.

Based on past experiences of the PRC, December is a peak month for fire incidents, a period when vigilance can literally mean the difference between life and death.

“There are no holidays for our staff and volunteers,” says PRC Chairman Dick Gordon.

“The dedication of our volunteers and personnel ensures that help arrives when it is needed most, holiday or not.”

“Our teams remain on constant alert, ready to respond the moment emergencies happen. The dedication of our volunteers and personnel ensures that help arrives when it is needed most, holiday or not,” Gordon said.

PRC’s response operations cover not only urban centers like Metro Manila but also other provinces where communities are at risk.

Each deployment involves coordinated action between our trained firefighters, emergency medical teams, and relief personnel, ensuring that families receive assistance immediately, and that casualties and damage are minimized.

He also emphasized the need for public awareness and preparedness.

“We urge every Filipino to exercise caution.”

“While PRC will continue to respond tirelessly, we urge every Filipino to exercise caution. Monitor cooking, candles and electrical decorations. Simple preventive actions save lives and protect homes,” Gordon appealed.
