TAN LEADS SAMAR’S 184TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

The Provincial Government of Samar celebrated its 184th Founding Anniversary recently with the theme “Kusog han Samar, Pagkaurusa Kita.”

In her commemorative message, Governor Sharee Ann Tan honored employees of both provincial and national government agencies for their hard work and contribution to the success of the Samar Day celebration, as well as for ensuring that programs and projects in the province are carried out effectively.

“I am so proud and grateful to all of you who untiringly provide the programs that Samarnons need,” the lady governor said.

“Behind the governor, you are there working and producing the outcomes we need to give to our constituents.”

“I would really like to express my gratitude to each one of you. Usually, I always make time to listen to and look after our constituents but seldom do I thank you all for your efforts. Behind the governor, you are there working and producing the outcomes we need to give to our constituents,” Tan stressed.

“To all of our employees, you are our strength.”

“To all of our employees, you are our strength. I hope you continue to work hard and collaborate with each other so we can deliver better services to the people because this is the only gift we can give to Samarnons,” she added.

Tan vowed to continuously implement programs beneficial to all Samarnons, highlighting efforts to improve the education system, enhance human development and human capital, and address poverty and the insurgency problem.

As the province looks toward a stronger and more united future, it also remembers its beginnings.

On August 11, 1841, Queen Isabella II issued a Royal Decree converting Samar from a civilian province into a military one.

This historic event remains the foundation of the Samar Day celebration observed each year.
