The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and Japan’s Tokushukai Medical Group reaffirmed their commitment to advancing humanitarian healthcare during a strategic partnership meeting held at the PRC National Headquarters in Mandaluyong City.
The Tokushukai delegation was led by Dr. Shuzo Kobayashi, Executive Managing Director of Tokushukai Medical Group and President & CEO of Shonan Kamakura General Hospital, together with Meg Ohashi, Chief Strategic Officer of Shonan Kamakura General Hospital; Dr. Kenji Shuto, Vice Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture; and Kiyoshi Wakamiya, Advisor of Tokushukai Medical Corporation.
The delegation visited the PRC Hemodialysis Center, which was established in 2018 following the donation of 20 dialysis machines by the Tokoshukai Medical Group.
Through the PRC Dialysis Samaritan Program for indigent patients, PRC has since provided nearly 30,000 free dialysis treatments to the most vulnerable Filipinos.
Dr. Kobayashi commended PRC’s stewardship of the donated equipment.
“I was deeply impressed to see that the PRC dialysis machines remain in excellent condition—meticulously maintained and well cared for even many years after they were donated.”
