UP Aguman Sets the Stage for Sining 2026

The UP Aguman sets the stage ready for Kapampangan culture, creativity, and contemporary expression as it brings back one of its most highly anticipated annual events, Sining 2026. UP Aguman’s Sining is an arts and talents competition held in Pampanga. This year, it carries the theme “Dásé: Pámanábal ning Makabayangnang Ténákan king Kalalangang Kapampángan,” offering the Kapampangan youth an opportunity to weave their identity, lived experiences, and personal values through artmaking and various forms of performances.

Guided by the concept of dásê, the act of weaving, Sining 2026 highlights how Kapampangan culture is not inherited, but is actively shaped and carried forward by the youth. Each work in writing, speech, and content making acts as a thread that is interwoven with memory, language, and tradition to come and form a collective cultural fabric that reflects both the rich heritage and the evolving voices of the new generation. Through this event, the Kapampangan youth are empowered to celebrate where they come from while remaining to be grounded in their culture.

First held in 1982, UP Aguman’s Sining remains to be a cornerstone of the organization’s commitment and mission to preserve, protect, and nurture Kapampangan culture. Over the years, it has developed into an avenue that brings together young and talented Kapampangan students to uphold creativity as a meaningful form of expression and defy the meritocratic systems that overlook the arts and humanities sector.

Sining 2026 unfolds over three exciting days. Each day is designed to showcase the depth of Kapampangan talent. The journey begins as a Preliminary Competition on February 21 at the University of the Philippines Diliman – Extension Program in Pampanga and Olongapo. The competition continues on March 7 which will be Sining Day 1 located at Brightwoods School, followed by Sining Day 2 on March 14 at SM City Clark to make the culmination of performances and artistry reach a wider audience.

As the threads come together, interested viewers and participants can expect a dynamic mix of individual competitions in Poetry Writing, Essay Writing, Impromptu Speech, and Visual Art Illustration as well as team competitions in Crissotan, Smartphone Photography, Short Film Making, Short-Form Content Making, Rockoustic Band, Modern Street Dance, and Junk Art Fashion. Be part of the unfolding story  and witness how the Kapampangan youth weave passion, purpose, and patriotism into art at UP Aguman’s Sining 2026.
