Incumbent party lists as well as newcomers got votes from a recent survey specifically conducted for party lists vying for seats in the upcoming 2019 elections.
In a survey conducted at the University of Caloocan – Edsa Campus, with 500 respondents consisting of B. A. Political Science students, 1-ANG EDUKASYON party list came out as the topnotcher.
Prof. Rey Jetajobe, who supervised the survey, said that, “Respondents were asked to name one party list of their choice. The results were then tallied and ranked accordingly.”

“The survey is indicative of the awareness level of the students in Metro Manila of the various party list groups,” added Jetajobe.
For his part, Rep. Bong Belaro of 1-ANG EDUKASYON party list said that, “We welcome the result of this survey, especially coming from Political Science students. This is a testament that hard work, works, as this is a sign of appreciation and approval from our constituents, as we represent the education sector.”

Belaro, who hails from Camarines Sur, finished Political Science (cum laude) and Law in UP Diliman and holds a Master’s Degree in Law from Cornell University in New York, USA. He was also a former college of law Dean as well as professor of political science and law.
Completing the top ten, following the number one 1-ANG EDUKASYON party list, are the following party lists: Gabriela, Ladlad, Magsasaka, Wow Pilipinas, Kabayan, Akbayan, 1-Pacman, Senior Citizens, and Cibac.
In the 17th Congress, there are 46 party lists occupying seats. For the 2019 elections, the latest number of party lists accredited by the Commission on Election (COMELEC) is 181, pending the final release of the official list of party lists qualified to participate.
