2020 INTERNATIONAL CLIMATE ACTION CHALLENGE SEEKS 100 PARTNERS TO LAUNCH 1,000 ECO-INITIATIVES IN 90 DAYS

Environmental issues such as pollution and lack of access to nutritious food are also health issues. Together with the pandemic, communities of color, indigenous communities and lower-income areas being disproportionately impacted.

“One way we can all take meaningful action to dismantle systemic oppression is to care for the planet. That’s why we’re challenging regular people to step up and launch environmental initiatives in their communities immediately.”

Green Team Academy is launching the 2020 International Climate Action Challenge to encourage the launch of 1,000 new or expanded environmental initiatives, beginning July 31, 2020.

The Challenge is being held in conjunction with the release of Gregerson’s new book, Climate Action Challenge: A Proven Plan for Launching Your Eco-Initiative in 90 Days.

The book outlines a step-by-step approach for community members to convert their passion into action.

It also includes dozens of stories of people that are making a difference with their environmental projects, from starting farmers markets and community gardens, to forming ‘green teams’ in their faith communities, neighborhoods and schools. The book is now available for pre-order.

Green Team Academy is recruiting 100 partners for the Climate Action Challenge Support Team.  These partners will help promote the event and mentor challengers. will issue the challenge to their networks, and support and encourage people as they launch their initiatives.

Green Team Academy plans to feature 100 of the initiatives in the December Climate Action Challenge Summit through project profiles, videos and interviews.
