MMDA LAUNCHES ‘I LOVE MM’ PHOTO, ART CONTESTS

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has launched metro-wide photography, songwriting, and art contests carrying the theme “I Love MM (Metro Manila)” aimed at showcasing the National Capital Region’s growth and development.

MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos invites amateur and professional Filipino artists who are residents of Metro Manila to join the contests.

“We encourage residents across the metropolis to take part and feature the transformation of Metro Manila by joining the ‘I Love MM’ contests,” Abalos said.

“By participating in these competitions, Metro Manileños can showcase not just the beauty of the metropolis but also their talents.”

“Through this competition, qualified participants would be able to demonstrate their skills and talents. No participation fee is required,” the traffic head said.

“I Love Metro Manila” is advocacy envisioned to uplift the spirits of its residents recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as to strengthen initiatives on urban renewal that aims to transform the metropolis to be a more livable, greener, and resilient region.

It is aimed towards urban renewal and provides a solution to insufficient green spaces in the National Capital Region as well as the united pandemic response among the 17 Metro Manila local government units (LGUs).

PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

The MMDA Photography Contest is organized to encourage creative expression through photography to raise public awareness about past and recent developments in Metro Manila.

The subject of the photo must conform to the theme “I love Metro Manila.”

The contest is open to all amateur and professional Filipino photographers who are residents of Metro Manila.

Winners will receive P50,000 for first place, P30,000 for second place, and P15,000 for third place. People’s Choice Award will receive P10,000.

SONGWRITING CONTEST

The MMDA Songwriting Contest aims to provide aspiring songwriters the opportunity to have their compositions heard and sung throughout the country and the entire world. At the same time, it is intended to raise awareness about past and recent developments in Metro Manila. It is open to amateur and professional Filipino songwriters, composers, and lyricists.

Song entries may be ballad or upbeat with the theme “I love Metro Manila”.

The contest is open to amateur and professional Filipino songwriters, composers, and lyricists who are residents of Metro Manila.

Winners will receive P100, 000.00 for first place, P50,000 for second place, and P30,000 for third place. People’s Choice Award will receive P20,000.

ART CONTEST

The MMDA Art Competition is organized to encourage creative expression through drawing, painting, and the use of artistic forms in showcasing the growth and development of Metro Manila.

Entry pieces must illustrate an artistic interpretation of the Theme “I love Metro Manila.”

The contest is open to amateur and professional Filipino artists who are residents of Metro Manila.

Winners will receive P100, 000.00 for first place, P50,000 for second place, and P30,000 for third place. People’s Choice Award will receive P20,000.

Entries for the photography, songwriting, and art contest must be submitted online on or before December 10.
