The House of Representatives, led by Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, formally honored P-Pop sensation BINI for making history as the first Filipino pop group to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, marking a major breakthrough for Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and Filipino talent on the global stage.
No less than Dy, along with Majority Leader Sandro Marcos and Negros Occidental 3rd District Representative Javi Benitez, personally welcomed the members of BINI to the House following the chamber’s adoption of Resolution No. 1001 recognizing the group’s international achievement and contribution to promoting Filipino culture worldwide.
The resolution, adopted by the House on May 13, 2026, commended and congratulated BINI for becoming the first Filipino pop group to perform at Coachella, one of the world’s biggest and most influential music festivals.
According to the House, BINI’s success reflects the growing international reach of Filipino artists and serves as “a source of immense national pride.”
“Filipino musicality and artistry can compete and excel at the highest levels of the international entertainment industry.”

The House further recognized BINI’s “significant contribution to global promotion of Filipino talent and culture,” saying the group’s achievement serves as an inspiration to aspiring Filipino artists and creatives across the country.
The chamber said the recognition was consistent with the 1987 Constitution’s mandate for the State to give priority to arts and culture and foster the preservation and enrichment of Filipino national culture.
The House described BINI as the “Nation’s Girl Group” and credited the all-female act for pioneering “a modern, globally competitive brand of [OPM].”
The resolution also emphasized that P-Pop strengthens the Philippines’ cultural presence worldwide and expands the global reach of Filipino music and creative industries.

BINI delivered a high-energy 45-minute set at the Mojave stage, where the group debuted its new single “Blush” from the EP Signals and performed hit songs such as “Pantropiko,” “Karera,” and “Salamin, Salamin.”
The resolution described Coachella as “an internationally renowned annual music and arts festival widely regarded as one of the most influential cultural events in the world, featuring top global artists and attracting hundreds of thousands of attendees, industry leaders, and international media attention.”
The House also recognized BINI for bringing OPM to a global audience of thousands in person and millions via livestream.
