The City of Manila turned over modern housing units to 65 beneficiary families under its In-City Vertical Housing Program during a ceremony at Bulwagang Villegas in Manila City Hall, bringing them one step closer to a better quality of life through safe, decent, and affordable housing.
Leading the turnover ceremony were Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso, Vice Mayor Chi Atienza, Manila Health Department OIC Director Dr. Grace Padilla, and Manila Urban Settlements Office (MUSO) Officer-in-Charge Ernesto Oliveros.
Of the 65 beneficiaries, 40 are employees of the Manila Health Department and city-run hospitals, while the remaining 25 are walk-in awardees who qualified under the city’s housing program.

Addressing the new homeowners, Domagoso underscored the importance of maintaining cleanliness, discipline, and shared responsibility within their communities.
“Kayo ay tumanggap ng isang malinis na bahay at pamayanan. Panatilihin ninyo itong malinis kasi hindi naman ako ang titira diyan, kayo rin. Ipagkusa na ang disiplina,” the mayor said.
“Ipagmalasakit ninyo ang inyong sarili at inyong kapitbahay.”

The beneficiaries will soon move into their new homes at San Lazaro Residences, Pedro Gil Residences, and San Sebastian Residences. Each housing development offers two-bedroom units and essential community amenities, including health centers, function rooms, and 24-hour security services, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for every Manila family.
He vowed to sustain and expand the city’s in-city housing program, saying the initiative is aimed not only at providing shelter but also at improving the quality of life of Manileños and restoring their dignity through decent, affordable housing.
