Filipinos can’t live without chismis and chika. We love topics ranging from politics to showbiz and entertainment. No issue is beyond discussing and dissecting, and our curiosity for updates on everything is boundless.
Emerging media powerhouse NET25 caters to Pinoys’ incessant hunger for information. A regular range of programs doing interviews, dispensing commentaries and disseminating the latest news and information targets a steadily growing and loyal audience who tune in every day and visit the network’s online sites.
Veteran journalist and media personality Korina Sanchez leads the NET25 lineup with Korina Interviews (Friday, 3pm). Always energetic and curious, Sanchez probes her guests with a curiosity and charm that few in the country do better. In one episode, for instance, she deftly engages actress and executive Charo Santos-Concio, tracing her career’s path from her discovery in Calapan, Mindoro as a youngster, to her award-winning run as an actress in the Seventies and Eighties, to her transition as a widely respected network manager.
Dra. Vicky Belo, Tirso Cruz III, Isko Moreno, Chef Ry, Chavit Singson, Piolo Pascual, among many other personalities, have all shared their life journeys and experiences with the inimitable Korina.
In Sa Ganang Mamamayan (Monday to Friday, 4:30pm – 6pm), Nelson Lubao and Gen Subardiaga stick to the tried and tested commentary program format with insightful analysis of burning political and social issues. Banking on their decades-long experience mostly in radio broadcasting, the duo deftly manages the transition to television and online presence without sacrificing Lubao and Subardiaga’s core credibility.
Host Alex Santos, meanwhile, uses Responde Mata ng Mamamayan (Saturday, 6pm) as a vehicle for showing viral local and international events, offering diverse features such as a viral bird handler and a “Hospital on Wheels” group based in Rizal province offering free medical assistance to children and senior citizens.
Through the show, the featured persons get to be interviewed and share their own hobbies and advocacies. Responde Mata ng Mamamayan is a public service and human interest show rolled into one.
The diversity of NET25’s talk program offerings means that every niche and interest gets served. The network has been expanding its its physical and manpower infrastructure to ensure greater reach. Its core focus on conquering the traditional media and the vast online space assures easy access to its programs.
