Expanding access to mental health care, the Provincial Government of Laguna under Governor Sol Aragones is bringing psychiatric services closer to Lagunenses as Dr. Jose P. Rizal Memorial District Hospital prepares to begin psychiatric consultations in September.
The hospital will offer consultations every Saturday and Sunday, with the specific consultation hours to be announced.
Laguna Medical Center has already started offering psychiatric consultations every Thursday and Friday.

The initiative aims to make professional mental health care more accessible to residents, particularly those who may find private psychiatric consultations costly, with fees reaching around ₱2,000 or more.
Aragones underscored the importance of seeking professional help, especially when a person’s mental health reaches a critical point.
“Mahalaga po ang proseso ng pagkonsulta sa ating mga psychiatrist dahil may panahon na ang ating mental health ay nasa crisis na,” the lady governor said.
Through the expansion of psychiatric services in provincial hospitals, the Provincial Government of Laguna seeks to encourage more Lagunenses to prioritize their mental well-being and seek timely professional support when needed.
