The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and the Department of Trade and Industry-Board of Investments (DTI-BOI) are strengthening coordination to facilitate the regulatory requirements of renewable energy projects under the government’s Green Lane services.
During a courtesy visit to the ERC office, ERC Chairperson and CEO Atty. Francis Saturnino Juan and DTI-BOI representatives discussed the designation of an ERC Green Lane focal person who will serve as a direct counterpart in addressing the regulatory requirements of strategic investments and projects requiring the Commission’s approval.
“We discussed the designation of an ERC Green Lane focal person who will serve as a direct counterpart in addressing the regulatory requirements of strategic investments and projects requiring the Commission’s approval.”
“We welcome closer coordination with the DTI-BOI to facilitate renewable energy investments while ensuring that regulatory requirements are addressed efficiently and in accordance with the Commission’s mandate,” Juan said.
Meanwhile, the meeting also covered measures to streamline the issuance of permits and licenses for strategic investments, as well as renewable energy projects in the pre-development stage that will eventually require ERC regulatory approvals.
Representing the DTI-BOI were Lubin De Vera, Jr., Division Chief of the Green Lane Division; Ernesto Delos Reyes, Jr., Director III of the Investments Assistance Service; and Atty. Bobby Fondevilla, Executive Director of the Investments Assistance Center, who presented updates on the implementation of the Green Lane services.
Through the enhanced coordination, the two agencies seek to streamline regulatory processes for strategic investments in the renewable energy sector.
