ALBAY GOV’T LAUNCHES ‘ABA KAGAYON’ FASHION SHOW

The Provincial Government of Albay and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Albay, headed by Vice Governor Baby Glenda Ong Bongao has launched the ABA KAgayon, Fashion • Lifestyle • Heritage at the Albay Astrodome.

This is to recognize the importance and dedication of local abaca weavers and farmers to provide products for the abaca industry in Albay Province.

“Albay is one of the Abaca Producers in the Philippines, making it the largest producer with 85% of abaca production all over the world.”

 

According to the ‘Abaca asin Istorya’ of Dr. Cedric Daep during the opening program, Albay is one of the Abaca Producers in the Philippines, making it the largest producer with 85% of abaca production all over the world. 

“Yaon tabi kamo ta grabe ang sakuyang pagrespeto sa saindong creativity …,” Albay Governor Edcel Greco Lagman, as he emphasized the essence of the Magayon Festival 2023 to promote different sectors including the marginalized community in Albay. 

Guests and visitors may also witness the process of weaving and making abaca bags and other products in the venue. 

Moreover, different groups of abaca weavers, farmers, and entrepreneurs from all over Albay participated in the said activity. 

Lagman further encouraged the Albayanos to visit and watch the ABA KAgayon Fashion Show.
