ALBAY TO LAUNCH DIGITAL RICE CLUSTER PROGRAM

The Digital Rice Cluster Program will soon be implemented in the Province of Albay.

Governor Grex Lagman confirmed that after being chosen as a pilot province, Albay is preparing for its full-blast implementation together with the National Rice Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary, President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., where Albay will take the lead.

“The provincial government will maximize this opportunity to benefit Albay Agricultural Cooperative (AAC) and all rice farmers through the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF).”

In his message, Lagman emphasized that the provincial government will maximize this opportunity to benefit Albay Agricultural Cooperative (AAC) and all rice farmers through the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF).

The AAC consists of Albayano rice farmers who are expected to greatly benefit from this modern rice production program, where their rice yields will triple.

“Doing everything I can for Albay Agricultural Cooperative (AAC) and our rice farmers. This is food security at its core. One that will fight local and regional inflation and make our Albayano farmers more progressive, more productive, and more prosperous,” the governor stressed.

Meanwhile, realizing the possible advantage of the program for thousands of farmers, Albay also plans to blaze the trail for other provinces to follow.

RCEF is the first program in the country where the DBP will extend a loan in the hundreds of millions of pesos to rice farmers.
