AURORA HAS ‘ONE DIRECTION’ FOR LEARNING CONTINUITY

The province of Aurora is promoting the “LGUs in One Direction” program for the implementation of different learning modalities for the class opening of the school year 2020-2021.

The move is in support of the localization of the Department of Education’s Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP).

In a “Handang Isip, Handa Bukas” press briefing recently, Aurora Governor Gerardo Noveras reported that School Division Superintendent Catalina Paez presented the BE-LCP to the provincial council and its municipalities to ensure that all the support of the local school boards (LSBs) is aligned in one direction.

Noveras said that budget adjustment in support of the BE-LCP were made through the Special Education Fund of the province and its municipalities.

“This move was also adopted in eight municipalities of our province.”

He also said that all municipalities in Aurora have allocated funds to assist in the production of modules and other learning materials and equipment for the needs of learners, teachers, DepEd personnel, and schools.

“The province is continuously seeking more assistance on the printing of modules and honoraria of teachers and learning facilitators.”

DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, in her message, lauded the efforts of the government officials and LGUs on the continuity of education amid the challenges of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
