BENITEZ IS NEW NEDA BOARD RDCOM VISAYAS CHAIRMAN

Bacolod City Mayor and Regional Development Council (RDC) VI Chairperson Albee Benitez was elected Chairperson of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Board Regional Development Committee-Visayas Area Committee (NB RDCom VAC) during its reorganizational meeting held at the Seda Vertis North, Quezon City. 

In accepting the position, Benitez expressed his gratitude for the trust and confidence given to him by his fellow committee members.

“I would like to thank my colleagues in NEDA Board-Regional Development Committee, Visayas Area Committee (NB-RDCOM VAC) for electing me as Visayas Area Chairman,” the mayor said.

“Collaboration and partnership are important in achieving sustainable and inclusive development for the Visayas regions.”

“I am honored by your vote of confidence. Rest assured, I will continue to work with purpose towards our shared future,” Benitez stressed.

Bohol Governor and RDC VII Chairperson Erico Aristotle Aumentado and Ormoc City Mayor and RDC VIII Chairperson Lucy Torres-Gomez were elected as Co-Chairpersons of the committee. 

Meanwhile, Bohol Governor and RDC VII Chairperson Erico Aristotle Aumentado and Ormoc City Mayor and RDC VIII Chairperson Lucy Torres-Gomez were elected as Co-Chairpersons of the committee. 

Assistant Secretary Greg Pineda of the NEDA Regional Development Group, Undersecretary Mark Roa Gimenez of the Presidential Management Staff, and Undersecretary Terrence Calatrava of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas also attended and delivered their messages during the meeting. 

NB-RDCom Visayas Area Committee is composed of the Chairpersons, Co-Chairpersons, and Vice-Chairpersons of the Regional Development Councils of Western, Central, and Eastern Visayas regions.  

Executive Order (E.O.) No. 257 created the Regional Development Committee (RDCom) under the NEDA Board to coordinate and integrate development efforts of the government to ensure harmony and effective implementation at the regional and local levels. 

Pursuant to the said E.O., NB-RDCom Area Committees were established for each of the major island groups to assist the NB-RDCom Mother Committee in the discharge of its functions.
