BOC EMPLOYEES, RETIREES GET HEALTH CARE SUPPORT

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has partnered with Medical Center Manila, Inc. (ManilaMed) to provide healthcare privileges and priority medical services for active personnel, retirees, and their qualified dependents, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to employee welfare.

Under the agreement, eligible members of the BOC community can enjoy discounted rates on medical services at ManilaMed.

Benefits include a 5% discount on outpatient services and a 10% discount on Emergency Room treatments and inpatient hospitalization. These discounts will be applied after PhilHealth coverage and other applicable benefits have been deducted, helping reduce out-of-pocket medical expenses for employees, retirees, and their families.

To make healthcare access more convenient, ManilaMed will also provide an express lane service for BOC beneficiaries.

To make healthcare access more convenient, ManilaMed will also provide an express lane service for BOC beneficiaries. This dedicated lane will be available for outpatient consultations, admissions, laboratory services, and billing transactions, allowing personnel and their dependents to receive medical attention more efficiently. Existing priority services for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women will remain in place.

The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed by Deputy Commissioner Raul Nagrampa on behalf of the BOC and ManilaMed President Eduardo Eseque, M.D.

BOC Administrative Office Director John Simon represented Nagrampa during the signing ceremony, which was also attended by Dr. Sigrid B. Duclan, Chief of the Medical and Dental Division, and other officials from both institutions.

Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said the partnership reflects the BOC’s continuing commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families.

“Hindi natatapos sa opisina ang ating tungkulin na pangalagaan ang mga taong naglilingkod sa ating bayan.”

“Our personnel deserve comprehensive support, and ensuring that our active employees, retirees, and their families have access to affordable healthcare remains a top priority. Hindi natatapos sa opisina ang ating tungkulin na pangalagaan ang mga taong naglilingkod sa ating bayan,” Commissioner Nepomuceno emphasized.

Deputy Commissioner Nagrampa, meanwhile, noted that behind every customs employee is a family that shares in the responsibilities of public service.

“Through this partnership with ManilaMed, the BOC aims to ease the burden of healthcare costs and provide faster access to medical services when they are needed most. The program is designed to make quality healthcare more accessible, affordable, and convenient for the entire BOC community,” Deputy Commissioner Nagrampa said.

While medical expenses remain the responsibility of individual personnel and their dependents, the BOC will continue to coordinate closely with ManilaMed to ensure the smooth implementation of the program and compliance with the hospital’s standard policies and procedures.

Nepomuceno expressed his gratitude to ManilaMed, led by Eseque, for its partnership and shared commitment to making quality healthcare more accessible to the entire BOC community.
