BOHOL GOV’T PUSHES FOR LOCAL EMPLOYMENT

The Provincial Government of Bohol, led by Governor Aris Aumentado, continues to advance employment facilitation efforts as the Public Employment Service Office Managers Association of the Philippines (PESOMAP)–Bohol successfully conducted its 1st Quarter Meeting and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony at the Metro Centre Hotel.

Led by Maria Vilma Yorong, head of BEPO-PESO and Provincial PESO Manager/CTEC, the activity gathered PESO managers, Job Placement Officers from various academic institutions, and key stakeholders across the province to strengthen collaboration in employment and career development initiatives.

“The initiative supports the Provincial Government’s efforts to promote inclusive growth, sustainable livelihoods, and community empowerment in Bohol as a UNESCO Global Geopark.”

A key highlight of the event was the formal MOA signing, which signified a unified commitment among participating institutions to enhance job placement services. 

The agreement aimed to expand employment opportunities through job fairs, job assistance programs, and upskilling initiatives, while strengthening the link between academic training and industry demands.

The program featured updates from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region VII on its first quarter accomplishments, along with discussions on strengthening linkages among Job Placement Offices, PESOs, and career development programs. 

“Partnerships are important in addressing employment challenges.”

Regional Director Atty. Roy Buenafe delivered a message of support, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in addressing employment challenges.

Additional sessions included presentations on the Safe Spaces Act, the PESO Action Plan for 2026, and key issues raised by stakeholders. 

The activity concluded with a reaffirmation of the collective goal to deliver accessible and responsive employment services across Bohol.
