BONG GO SENDS AID TO BATANGAS INDIGENTS

Senator Bong Go, through his team, extended assistance to almost a thousand indigent residents from various municipalities in Batangas, as part of his continuing commitment to support vulnerable communities.

The beneficiaries are from Calaca, Balayan, Calatagan, Lemery, Lian, Nasugbu, Taal, and Tuy.

The relief activity, held at Balayan Municipal Gym in Batangas, conducted in coordination with Batangas 1st District Board Member Armie Bausas, benefited 700 residents who received aid.

Emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the needs of disadvantaged Filipinos, Go reiterated his commitment to advancing pro-poor initiatives and ensuring that government support reaches those who need it most.

“Dapat po ay sikapin ng gobyerno na walang magutom na Pilipino.”

“Prayoridad ko ang pagsuporta sa pro-poor programs at dapat po ay sikapin ng gobyerno na walang magutom na Pilipino. ‘Yan po ang pakiusap ko parati sa kapwa ko lingkod bayan,” the adopted son of CALABARZON with familial roots from Batangas said in a message.

During the activity, the veteran senator’s team distributed shirts, snacks, pens, and basketballs to the beneficiaries.

To further strengthen government assistance for Filipinos facing emergencies and financial hardships, the Senate approved on second reading Senate Bill No. 1966, or the proposed Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) Act, on May 4 this year.

As the bill’s author and a co-sponsor, the seasoned lawmaker emphasized that institutionalizing the program would enable the government to provide more timely, compassionate, and consistent assistance to Filipinos in need.

“Continuing health initiatives aimed at bringing government medical services closer to ordinary Filipinos.”

The senator also highlighted his continuing health initiatives aimed at bringing government medical services closer to ordinary Filipinos. He cited the Malasakit Centers program, ensuring that patients can easily access medical assistance without additional financial burden. Go is the principal author and sponsor of Republic Act No. 11463, also known as the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, which institutionalized Malasakit Centers nationwide.

Malasakit Centers serve as one-stop shops for medical assistance programs. To date, 167 Malasakit Centers are established nationwide with more than 17 million Filipinos benefiting from this initiative. In Batangas, two Malasakit Centers are located at Batangas Provincial Hospital in Lemery and Batangas Medical Center in Batangas City.

“Lagi ko pong uunahin ang mga programa na makakatulong sa mga Pilipino,” he concluded.
