BULACAN MOVES VS ILLEGAL TIMBER TRAFFICKING

In the continuous implementation of Oplan Kalikasan, 50 illegally possessed narra timbers were seized in the Province of Bulacan after a buy-bust operation was conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 3 (CIDG-RFU3) together with the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO), Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO), Pandi Municipal Police Station and City Environmental and Natural Resources (CENRO) held at Matiaga St., San Roque, Pandi, Bulacan.

Two suspects were arrested wherein 43 pieces of 1x10x6 inches and 7 pieces of 1x10x7 inches of narra timber were confiscated with an approximate market value of more or less P45,000 along with one Mitsubishi FB which was turned over to CENRO.

Following the successful implementation of temporary quarrying ban, Governor Daniel Fernando pleaded to the Bulakenyos to quit conducting illegal activities in the province and made sure that those involved in illegal activities will face appropriate punishments.

The arrested suspects are now facing criminal complaints for violation of PD 705 or the illegal possession of timber – narra and is being readied for filing before the Bulacan Provincial Prosecutors Office in the City of Malolos.
