CARDONA FERRY TERMINAL OPENS SOON — RIZAL SOLON

Residents of Rizal province will soon enjoy another convenient transport option to Metro Manila as the Cardona Ferry Terminal breaks ground.

Rizal 2nd District Rep. Fidel Nograles on Tuesday announced that the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Cardona Ferry Terminal will be held on Thursday, October 8th.

“Laguna Lake has many growth areas that could benefit all the areas along it.”

The construction of the terminal is part of the neophyte lawmaker’s plan to establish the Laguna Lake Ferry Network connecting to the Guadalupe Station to help ease Metro Manila’s traffic woes and provide Rizaleños with an accessible and faster route to the capital.

Another terminal will also be constructed in Jala-Jala town.

Nograles met with Department of Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade in December last year to broach the possibility of opening the ferry service in Rizal.

“It’s in the best interest of our constituents if we take the initiative so we can have a fully-working, sustainable, and interconnected system.”

The Harvard-trained lawyer also said utilizing the lake for transport could help bring focus to Laguna Lake.

“Laguna Lake has many growth areas that could benefit all the areas along it.

The solon touted the possibility of attracting investors to Rizal with a fully-functioning ferry system.

He also urged the local government units along Laguna Lake to also start setting up their own ferry services.

“It’s in the best interest of our constituents if we take the initiative so we can have a fully-working, sustainable, and interconnected system,” said Nograles.
