DAVAO DE ORO HOSTS REGIONAL DEV’T COUNCIL MEET

Davao de Oro, under the good governance of Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga, played host to the 2023 3rd Quarter Full Council Meeting of the Regional Development Council (RDC) XI recently. 

The meeting was held in one of the finest tourist destinations in the province, the Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort in Mabini town.

Government officials, community leaders and stakeholders in the Davao region met to discuss and deliberate crucial regional development issues, namely:

(a) Davao Region Creative Industries Roadmap;

(b) Economic Thrusts/Investment Interests of Foreign Missions in Davao Region;

(c) Briefing on the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Regional Office XI’s Mandate and Key Programs, Activities, and Projects;

(d) FY 2025 Annual Investment Program (AIP) for Davao Region;

(e) Activities for the 2023 RDC Week (4th Week of September); and

(f) other Sectoral/Special Committee Matters.

Montejo-Gonzaga, in her message, highlighted the significance of collaboration.

“If all those in the position in the government will all work together and support each other, especially for our region, [then] each and all LGUs can achieve so much progress.”

“We will make them feel that really our government works!”

“We’re trying our best to make our people [feel] that there is a government who cares for them … We will make them feel that really our government works!” she added.

The event concluded with renewed determination to address challenges, create opportunities, and develop more initiatives, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting growth and prosperity in the region.

Among the attendees were Davao Oriental Governor Nino Sotero Uy, Jr and Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib.

RDC XI Acting Chairperson PSR Arturo Milan, NEDA XI Regional Dir. Maria Lourdes Lim, RDC XI Secretary ARD Gilberto Altura, Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Sec. Leo Tereso Magno, National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Commissioner Arvin Manuel Villalon, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Mindanao Assistant Secretary Renato Pedro Villa and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) XI Acting Regional Director Angela Librado-Trinidad were also present.
