DAVAO ORIENTAL PARK RENAMED TO HONOR EX-GOVERNOR

In a commemoration marking what would have been the 74th birthday of the late Governor Corazon Malanyaon, the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental, led by Governor Niño Sotero Uy, Jr., orchestrated a dedication ceremony of the Davao Oriental Welcome Park in Pintatagan, Banaybanay.

The dedication seeks to immortalize Malanyaon’s legacy and her contributions to the province’s development.

The park, which the late lady governor herself conceptualized, is now dedicated as the Corazon T. Nuñez Malanyaon Welcome Park as a tribute to her unwavering dedication to the growth of Davao Oriental.

The park, which was created to capture the beauty of Davao Oriental, serves as a welcome sight for visitors and reflects the splendor of the province’s natural beauty.

“The dedication of the park goes beyond merely immortalizing her name in stone as it is more of a commitment to upholding the values she stood for and the principles she lived.”

Uy, in his message, said the dedication of the park goes beyond merely immortalizing her name in stone as it is more of a commitment to upholding the values she stood for and the principles she lived.

“As we pass through this so-called Gateway to Davao Oriental, we will remember her (Governor Malanyaon’s) unwavering dedication and the good deeds she shared with each of us,” he said.

The current top provincial leader also firmly pledged to continue Governor Malanyaon’s legacy.

He highlighted the importance of boosting the agriculture and tourism sectors in particular, as they are the two pillars supporting the province’s economic growth and development.

“We will continue to give our agriculture industry the time and attention it deserves.”

“We will continue to give our agriculture industry, which is the backbone of our province, the time and attention it deserves. Likewise, (rehabilitation) of our eco-parks, museums, and construction of new attractions will continue to be done,” Uy said.
