DIMAPORO EYES MORE FIRE TRUCKS FOR LANAO DEL NORTE

Addressing gaps in fire protection and advancing local development plans were among the key priorities taken up by the Provincial Development Council (PDC), which approved funding adjustments, a municipal land-use plan, and measures to provide fire trucks to unequipped fire stations during its meeting presided over by Lanao del Norte Governor Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo.

The council approved the reprogramming of the CY 2026 20% Development Fund and the Provincial Governor’s Office Capital Outlay, along with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) 2020-2030 of the Municipal Local Government Unit of Maigo.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Lanao del Norte also presented updates on ongoing fire station construction and facilities that have yet to receive fire trucks.

Dimaporo called for an inventory of fire stations and available fire trucks, with a breakdown of units provided by the BFP and local government units (LGUs), to identify gaps in equipment distribution.

“So, if there is an available BFP fire truck, we want to allocate that to all fire stations within the province of Lanao del Norte that does not yet have a BFP fire truck. So, we’d like to see that,” the governor said.

The council subsequently approved PDRRMC Resolution No. 5 providing for the allocation and procurement of fire trucks for fire stations in Lanao del Norte that do not yet have one.

The council subsequently approved Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) Resolution No. 5, s. 2026, providing for the allocation and procurement of fire trucks for fire stations in Lanao del Norte that do not yet have one.

The Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Council (PAFC) also presented several resolutions, which the PDC approved during the meeting.

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte was likewise recognized under the 2026 SubayBAYANI Awards for the active engagement of its Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC), which demonstrated responsive, collaborative, and results-driven project governance.

The plaque of recognition was presented during the council meeting.
