President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered to expedite the construction of the Northbound Interchange Ramp of the Batino Bridge along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Calamba City, Laguna.
Marcos gave the directive to alleviate the heavy traffic experienced by motorists, especially large trucks plying the area.
According to Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon, the road has been a stop-and-go scheme for a long time.
Dizon explained this is causing the accumulation of large trucks and vehicles resulting in heavy traffic flows.
“Ang gagawin natin dito, magtutulungan na tayo [ng local government] para sa right-of-way. Kami na po ang bahala doon,” the public works chief said.
“Tututukan natin ito pero ang pinakamabilis na solusyon dito ay i-PPP (Public-Private Partnership) na natin.”

Before giving the statement, Dizon held a meeting with Laguna Mayor Roseller Rizal and Laguna Representative Charisse Anne Hernandez-Alcantara to review the interchange plan.
