DOH BARES PLAN FOR NURSING SHORTAGE IN HOSPITALS

Department of Health Secretary Teddy Herbosa recently led a Meet and Greet press conference with health reporters at the DOH Central Office with Dr. Carl Balita, Chairman at CEB Group of Companies, and President and CEO of Carl Balita Review Center.

Herbosa underscored his proposal to augment the number of nurses through allowing nurses who are yet to pass the board examination and take plantilla positions in the government.

The plan aims to allay the ongoing migration of nurses abroad for search of better opportunities and the brain drain among the health cadre in the country.

If we can offer them the opportunities they need, then we would be able to keep them here to serve the Filipinos. This is why we are grateful for the synergy that we have with the private sector to push for this initiative,” the health chief said.

Balita also addressed media inquiries on how his review center is open for aspiring nurses who wish to undergo review sessions to help them in passing the national licensure examination.

“We believe that this initiative can come into fruition if we work synchronously with the same goal.”

“We believe that this initiative can come into fruition if we work synchronously with the same goal.
